School Reopening Update and Instructional Program Survey Featured Photo

School Reopening Update and Instructional Program Survey

As many of you may have heard, Governor Newsom announced a new system for determining which counties can move forward with reopening plans. We are continually monitoring the situation. However, in order to plan for a return to in-person instruction, we are asking that all families complete the Instructional Program Selection Survey for each OPA student. This survey must be completed by this Friday, September 4, 2020, by every parent/guardian, so that we can begin to plan for a return to in-person instruction for those families who wish to send their students back to campus.

I am so excited to welcome you back to the new school year. Welcome Back Message

We are so excited to be just 5 days away from the start of the 2020-2021 school year. I feel like it is New Year’s Eve waiting for the ball to drop in Time’s Square, excited and eager to see what this new year will bring for our OPA community, and hoping that this year is much better than the last. I hope that you have all had a wonderful, and restful summer break. Although we will be returning to school this year through virtual learning, we want to provide a rigorous, engaging academic program for each OPA Champion! Therefore, we have been working hard over the summer creating schedules for each student that allow for a great deal of face to face interaction with teachers and students, as well as the extra enrichment that makes our OPA program so special.

Executive Director Message 06/15/20

As we depart for summer, likely to be so different than the summers we have come to know, I want to confirm the commitment we commonly share to provide an exceptional education for our OPA students. Recent challenges and opportunities provided public schools, such as OPA, opportunity to reimagine the social space where we teach and learn. When our schools reopen in August, we hope the world and the community is healthier and safer for all. OPA will continue to provide timely communication throughout the summer. I look forward to a summer that restores our joy, dreams and visions.
