OPA Students

Welcome to OPA

Oxford Preparatory Academy (Oxford Prep) strives to create a center for higher learning where students from transitional kindergarten to eighth grade are prepared to pursue high level academic studies, as well as gain skills to be successful in the diverse, global community. Our students do not just meet, but exceed grade level expectations and become critical thinkers as they engage with dynamic teaching that makes them self-motivated, competent, and lifelong learners.

At OPA, we believe that all students are gifted. Student individual needs are met through differentiate instruction, based on the theory of Multiple Intelligences.  Students participate in activities and lessons that allow them to learn and exhibit understanding through a variety of ways that meet their individual multiple intelligences.

Students at OPA also participate in a variety of enrichment opportunities, including world languages (at all grade levels), music, STEAM lab, Taekwondo, physical education, after-school clubs and sports, 1:1 technology, and electives.

Our university themed classrooms build student excitement about higher education. Each classroom is affiliated with a university, where students learn about college life, admissions, sports, and academics. This also builds classroom community and inclusion.

We provide a welcoming, inclusive environment for all students, where diversity is embraced.

Parent Message 1/18/2022

I hope that you all had a wonderful three-day weekend, celebrating the incredible contributions Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. made to the Civil Rights Movement and the continuing efforts toward racial equality in the United States.   Sadly, last week also marked the highest positivity rate and daily average of positive cases for COVID-19 in Orange County since the start of the pandemic, currently 27.5% and 8,833, respectively. In addition, the Omicron Variant has led to dramatic increases in positivity and hospitalization rates among school aged children. Even at our two OPA campuses, positivity rates among students and staff have dramatically increased since the beginning of December and are at the highest rate since the pandemic began.

OPA Update 9/10/2021

Thank you all for an amazing first month of school! It has been great having our champions back and implementing some of the things that have had to be put on hold over the past 18 months. As we continue to get the 2021-22 school year underway, our students and professors have been busy with diagnostic assessments, building their classroom communities, learning new curriculum, and putting the great professional development organized by Dr. Henry into action in the classrooms. It is also very exciting to see all the creative MI activities professors have been implementing, including choice boards, MI class groupings, and outdoor learning activities, etc.
