Good Evening OPA Staff and Families,
I hope you all had a wonderful Literature Day!! It has been a very hectic week and I am extremely happy that all of our families are able to be back in their homes after the frightening fires that surrounded our OPA community. Thank you to everyone who pulled together and allowed our OPA-SV hybrid students to continue their education on Zoom so seamlessly on Tuesday and Wednesday.
It has been an incredible start to our in-person instruction over the past week and half. As presented at the Board meeting last night, we have had great feedback from staff, students, and families. I could not be more pleased at the way our first days back have gone and the tremendous effort put forth by our staff to make it such a positive experience for our champions. Thank you all.
I want to make sure that everyone is following their new schedules which began on October 21st. These schedules can be accessed by logging into the Aeries Portal. If you or your student have any questions regarding the schedule, please reach out to your professor. Additionally, if your student is attending the hybrid program and is going to be absent, but is still able to attend class via Zoom, reach out to your child’s professor for instructions on how to join their virtual sessions. If your student attends the virtual sessions, it will not be reported as an absence and they will not fall behind in their studies.
If your student needs access to a Chromebook or if you have any technology issues, please reach out to our amazing tech team by submitting a ticket. Access to this system can be found on our website under programs and academics and technology or simply go to https://opatechsupport.freshdesk.com. We want to ensure that all students are able to participate in virtual learning and access online resources.
Just a reminder, on November 11th there will be no school due to the Veterans Day holiday. Therefore, students will not attend virtual or in-person classes on that day.
Also, please remember to set your clocks back this weekend so that you are not late to classes on Monday.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Please stay safe, stay healthy, and we will see you on Monday… either in-person or virtually!
