Governor Gavin Newson issued new guidance for California schools on July 17, 2020. This new guidance states that schools and school districts may reopen for in-person instruction at any time if they are located in a local health jurisdiction (LHJ) that has not been on the county monitoring list within the prior 14 days. If the LHJ has been on the monitoring list within the last 14 days, the school must conduct distance learning only, until their LHJ has been off the monitoring list for at least 14 days. For more information, please refer to the New Guidance for Schools, which can also be viewed on our website's COVID-19 Resources page.
As Orange County is currently on the monitoring list, our schools are required to be 100% online. Therefore, both OPA campuses will begin the 2020-2021 school year providing virtual instruction, online to all students in grades TK-8. We will be providing more information regarding how Oxford Preparatory Academy will meet these new guidelines at the July 23, 2020 Board of Directors meeting. The agenda and link to join the meeting will be posted on the website on Monday, July 20, 2020. We will also be sending out more information about our plans for implementing 100% virtual learning throughout the next few weeks, so please ensure that all contact information remains updated in the Aeries Portal.
